Kallista
Kallista – High Performance/Passive
Our industry is shifting towards more energy efficient, sustainable practices.
The average new Australian home cycles through just over 15 air changes per hour. This affects the ability to efficiently heat and cool a home. A high-performance home aims for around 5ac/h. At this level, mechanical ventilation should be introduced to the house to counter rising humidity. Passive house certification requires 0.6 ac/h.
Kingcraft’s Kallista brief was to build a BAL 29 bushfire compliant, high-performance family home; that remained concrete free and carbon negative. Our clients had spent years heavily researching the type of build they wanted for their family; together we embraced the challenge and returned a completed house built on time and on budget; with a passive house standard of under 0.6 air changes per hour.
